Key Areas of Training & Consulting

Adebola provides training to groups and organizations on topics such as Anti-Racism, Equity Diversity & Inclusion (EDI), Effective Allyship, Self-Advocacy, Storytelling, Gender-Based Violence (Prevention, Interventions, Safety Plans), Community Based Research, Personal Development & Leadership, etc. Some of her past and ongoing consultancy work are listed below.

Our work so far
  • Equity Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) consultant for the Culture of the North (COTN) project of Future North (ongoing)
  • Black Community Advisory consultant at the Centre for Child Development, Mental Health, and Policy (CCDMP) at the University of Toronto (Ongoing)
  • Black Seed Project Working Group member for Canadian Council for Youth Prosperity (ongoing)
  • Offered one-day professional development training to librarians in the Greater Sudbury schools on Creating a Diverse and Welcoming Library (Feb 2022)
  • Facilitated consultations across Ontario to learn more about the racism experiences and COVID-19 impacts on racialized women and educators as the Women & Gender Equality (WAGE) Project coordinator for the Ontario Coalition for Better Child Care (2021-2022)
  • Coordinating a Working Group of 17 racialized mothers, women, educators, and researchers to co-create program and policy recommendations for decision-makers in Ontario in response to COVID-19 recovery (2022 -2024)
  • Curriculum review consultant at Seneca School of Early Childhood Education (Ongoing)
  • Completed a Major Research Paper on the Factors that Influence African Immigrant Students’ Academic Resilience in 2022. MRP is to be published in 2023.
  • Facilitated a series of anti-Black racism workshops for newcomer youth and women in Toronto shelter (2019 – 2021)
  • Northern Ontario Working Group member for Women and HIV/AIDS (WHAI) Ontario (2022)
  • Offered Anti-Black Indigenous Asian Racism (ANTI-BIAR) training to Aids Service Organizations (ASOs) and the Harm Reduction team at Resseau Access Network, Sudbury (2022)
  • Co-created a strategic anti-Black racism work plan and participated in the 5-year strategic plan for the Family Support Institute Ontario (FSIO) in 2022
  • Created a Gender-Based Violence and Sexual Abuse Prevention campaign video for the Immigrant and Refugee Communities Neighbours Friends and Families Campaign of the Ontario Council of Agencies Serving Immigrants (OCASI) in 2021
